The Sydney Harbour Bridge run

Last Sunday,  I took part in the Sydney run and I really enjoyed myself.

I went by train at 7am and then I  arrived at the north Sydney. I followed the queues into the park.  I took a vest and a hat from the sport supplier and changed into them. The I put on my runner's number on the front.

When I was waiting on the  road for the start of the race,  I heard the conductor say " Put up your hand  if this is your first time running on  Sydney Harbour bridge."  Many of us put our hands up.  " Welcome to the first time runners.  Enjoy!"

We  began to run at 9am. I felt very excited  running on the Harbour bridge. I also saw many people.  They were young and old! Some  families pushed their babies in strollers.

I ran 9 kilometrres in about an hour and a half. At the end of the race, I was tired but very happy. I had fun and I was glad my daughter gave me her entry place!!!

Father's day

Father's day was invented on 19th of June 1910 in Washington.  Most people celebrate Father's day to express honor and gratitude for his love and affection.  That is the spirit of the fastival.

In Australia.  Father's day is on the 1st Sunday in Seprember, but in China, Father's day is on the 8th of August.  The way most Chinese celebrate Father's day varies from family to family.  Some celebrate with cards, flowers and other gifts of love and spend time eating a big dinner tohether.

For me, I always send a card to chia for my dad and I call to him say "Happy father's day, dad....".   If I had time,  I would go back to China to be with my dad for a big dinner at the a restaurant.
